Umbilical Cord hat - stripe for boy

I can't stop making this hat... Using yarn stash because Hobby Lobby is closed on Sunday.  Using Cotten Ease New, which is now my 2nd fav. yarn.  My new first choice is Baby Bee Hushabye.

Started this hat, late afternoon today.  Took it with me to Haley's 2 sports practices and got it 80% done in two hours.

I cord topper for Lilac hat

Working to finish the Lilac hat - this is my first ever I Cord.  Doing the Umbilical Cord hat from Stitch 'n Bitch, pg. 188.  Finding it really easy.  Used sz. 10 DPN's to finish the decrease on the very top of the hat and this time I got it right.  Sweet.

Snow + Clay creations = More Fun!

After the sewing... we broke out the molding clay. 

 

Kept the kids engaged for an hour.  Logan made a PS3

Snow + Sewing a Zhu Zhu bed = Fun!

Another big snow today... good day to stay inside and craft!

Haley had her first sewing lesson today. 

She wanted no part of the sewing machine, but did sew the seam closed on the hamster pillow. 

That's how we roll... snowed in on a Sunday, sew a mattress, blanket and pillow for Haley's new Zhu Zhu Pet, Joey.  She had fun and was beaming when she finished her pillow.

Lilac Baby Hat

Just started another hat today.  The weather here is so dreary and it's snowing, yet again.  Need something bright and spring like.  I'll make this for the upcoming Fall Festival at the kids school.  With the flash on, the yarn is much lighter than it really is.  It's much more purple/grey.

My first hat with a 2x2 rib (first inch), then knit all the rest.  I think I'll try to end it at the top, after decreasing, with an umbilical cord knot.  There, no flash and the yarn looks as it should.

I really like this Yarn Bee brand, half cotton and half acrylic. 

I hate acrylic, but this blend is really nice.

Haley's Orange Hat

My daughter requested a bright orange roll brim hat.  So here is the third hat I've ever made.  Could have been a few inches longer.  Lesson Learned.

Logan turns 12

My first born turns 12 today!!!  I'm amazed at how fast time is flying by.  He's having six guy friends over for video games and pizza.  My 8 yr. old is sick in bed with a bad flu.  It's dreary and cold out - Boo.

The McTwins with their knit hats!!!!

Remi and Cole got their knit hats, booties and fleece fringe blankets!!  This is the first time I've ever seen my baby items on the actual recipients - most of my other stuff has been given as donation.  Seeing these the first time made me so proud!

Cole's Hat

Knit this hat and added my first ever pom-pom.  Really happy with how my first two hats have turned out.  Now ready to make an orange one for my 8 year old.

Remi's gift set

My friend at work just became the Grandmother of twins - Remi and Cole. I made two gift sets for them. This is Remi's finished set. Cole's is almost done.

Knitting in a blizzard...

I started my second 'Rose' stripped knit blanket on a 11 hr. car ride to and from S. Dak. - on the way back, we hit some serious snow. To keep from getting too stressed about the road conditions, I knit.

Life Musing #2

I have three tattoos - on or before Aug. 21 of this year, I must get my fourth and final one. I'm thinking a moon with celtic design and the number 44 incorporated somehow... this is my latest and my favorite so far - fleur de lis on outside right ankle.

Fleece baby girl set with coordin. reversible bibs

I made this baby girl set for our school's Fall Festival as a donation in the silent auction. Crocheted the edge of the fleece with a Skip Stitch blade cutter and a very light weight super soft white baby yarn.

Knit baby boy stiped blanket, with lining. Coordin. reversible bibs too.

Personalized fleece tie blanket

I made this KU blanket for a friends daughter going off to college. I embroidered the felt letters on. Made this a year ago. As I'm a Kansas State Univ. grad. myself, it pained me to make this :o) Go Wildcats!!!!
